When is an interpretation still legitimate?

CIP asks whether an interpretation still holds when more of the relevant context, relations and constraints are brought into view.
Why it matters
The aim is to keep the boundary between a plausible local explanation and a defensible wider interpretation visible. CIP is a research principle, not a guarantee of correctness.
