SERVICES

Decide before you commit.

INRATIOS works with organisations before a complex question hardens into a project, programme or preferred solution.

We don't start by improving the proposed solution. We start by checking whether the problem is the right one, what is known and what is assumed, and how much action the situation really calls for.

01

Is this the right problem?

For when a question already comes with a preferred solution, project or diagnosis.

We look at how the problem has been defined, where its boundaries lie, what may be causing it, what is being assumed and what it is for — before anything is implemented. The outcome may be a confirmed problem, a different question, a smaller test, or a good reason not to go ahead.

02

What do we actually know?

For when the situation is complex enough that action seems likely, but it is unclear what action is warranted.

We separate observations, assumptions and evidence, make the dependencies visible, and agree in advance what would need to be true before the next step. You end up with a clear written basis for the decision, an agreed checkpoint, or advice on how the decision should be governed.

03

What is the smallest sensible step?

For when an idea may be worth pursuing, but building it in full would commit too much too early.

We help shape a research question, experiment, prototype or small first step that can show whether the idea holds. Further development follows only if the result supports it.

04

Strategic and programme support

On selected strategic, programme or interim assignments where the work depends on how parts of a system affect each other, and on making decisions with the evidence in view. The same rule applies: no more action than the problem and the evidence call for.

ENGAGEMENT PRINCIPLE

The first exchange is used to understand the question and determine whether there is a meaningful fit. No paid engagement is assumed.

If substantive work is justified, scope, decision point, deliverable, fee and terms are agreed before work begins. A useful outcome can also be that no larger assignment is needed.
