Proportional Design with the GRM
A Construction Framework Based on Bounding Squares and Cubes
This application proposal by M.C.M. van Kroonenburgh, MSc introduces a novel approach to geometric design: the Geometric Ratio Model (GRM). Instead of defining shapes through internal dimensions or irrational constants like π, GRM frames every shape as a fixed ratio within a bounding square or cube.
With constants such as 0.7854 SAU for circles and 0.5236 SVU for spheres, the model enables scalable, visually grounded, and formula-free construction logic.
GRM is ideal for use in CAD design, geometry education, UI/UX layout systems, and AI-based shape recognition.
