Introduction (Pitch)

This model abandons the classical mathematical constant π in favor of a relative, visually and measurably grounded alternative: the Square Perimeter Unit (SPU). Within this system, the perimeter of a square serves as the absolute reference unit (1 SPU), and all other geometric shapes — including inscribed circles, rectangles, and triangles — are expressed as a fraction of this standard perimeter. For example, a circle with a diameter equal to the side of the square consistently occupies exactly π/4 ≈ 0.7854 SPU in terms of perimeter. By redefining geometric relationships through this proportional lens, the dependence on irrational numbers is eliminated, and a dimensionally consistent, scalable, and didactically accessible framework emerges. This approach is applicable across multiple domains, including mathematics education, geometric design, digital image processing, and shape recognition.
